CTOnews.com November 4, 2016 AMD announced its AMD Advantage program for desktop gaming platforms at the launch of the Radeon RX 7900 Series RDNA 3 graphics card.

Just like high-performance laptops, AMD Advantage programs are designed to create AMD-based desktop gaming consoles that deliver maximum performance and a seamless operating experience. AMD demonstrated one of the first such systems at its launch event, the Origin PC Millennium AMD Advantage Edition.

AMD Advantage laptop programs create a design framework based on the AMD 3A platform that combines the company's top hardware and enables CPUs and GPUs to work together to ensure they get the most out of their performance, power and cooling configurations.

In addition, AMD Advantage laptops commonly use Adrenaline Edition drivers and can bring a variety of "smart software tricks" to improve performance and overall user experience.

For desktops, though, AMD Advantage plans to be slightly different because it will focus more on hardware than software.

CTOnews.com understands that all AMD Advantage desktop PCs will be powered by AMD Ryzen 9 7900X or Ryzen 9 7950X processors with Radeon RX 7900XT or RX 7900XTX graphics.

In addition, all participating AMD Advantage desktops will be designed and optimized by OEM and AMD engineers to ensure they have adequate thermal and reliable power performance to maximize performance.
