This is the first tunnel for the entire Xikang high-speed railway line, and it is also the only tunnel for the whole line to cross the highway twice.

The Erdaoliang tunnel of Xikang high-speed railway is located in Zuoshui County, Shangluo City, Shaanxi Province. the tunnel is 213 meters long and is a single-hole and double-lane tunnel with a maximum buried depth of 65 meters.

Xikang high-speed railway is an important part of Baohai high-speed railway and Beijing-Kunming high-speed railway in the national medium-and long-term railway network planning, with a total length of 170.854 kilometers, extending to the west to the north and to the south to the Kangyu high-speed railway. The design speed is 350 kilometers per hour, and the planned construction period is 5 years.

The Xikang high-speed railway line is planned to lead from the southern end of Xi'an East Railway Station, across the Qianhe River, across the Qinling Mountains, through Zuoshui, Zhenan, Xunyang, and connected to the planned Ankang West Station. There are six stations in Xi'an East, Taihe, Zhashui West, Zhenan West, Tongmu and Ankangxi.

CTOnews.com learned that the Xikang high-speed railway is expected to be completed and opened in June 2026, and after it is opened, the operating time from Xi'an to Ankang will be shortened from about 3 hours now to less than 1 hour, which is of great significance to release the transport demand between Guanzhong and southern Shaanxi, help revitalize the countryside and promote local economic development.
