Beijing time on the evening of November 3, it is reported that Qualcomm CEO and president Cristiano Amon (Cristiano Amon) said today that 2024 will be a brilliant year for Windows PC to use Snapdragon (Snapdragon) processors.

"based on our current accumulation of relevant designs, Windows PC with Snapdragon processor will reach an inflection point in 2024," Amon said on today's earnings call. "

This prediction made by Amon is mainly based on the AI function of Microsoft Windows system, more and more PC manufacturers adopt Snapdragon processor, and further design work makes Snapdragon more and more suitable for Windows system.

Amon did not elaborate on which PC manufacturers would provide PCs with Snapdragon processors. But last week, Lenovo unveiled the world's first laptop, the ThinkPad X13s, with a third-generation Snapdragon 8cx chip.

Earlier today, Qualcomm released its results for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2022. Revenue was slightly higher than Wall Street analysts had expected and adjusted earnings per share met expectations, but the outlook for revenue and earnings per share in the first quarter of 2023 was lower than expected, causing its shares to fall nearly 7 per cent in after-hours trading.

Faced with the current economic downturn, Amon said on a conference call: "with a strong balance sheet and free cash flow, we have the confidence and ability to manage the current economic downturn." Amon also said Qualcomm was responding to the economic slowdown by freezing hiring and further cutting operating expenses.
