On November 3, according to foreign media reports, on Wednesday, local time, Canoo, a US electric vehicle startup, said it would build an electric vehicle battery module manufacturing plant in Pryor, Oklahoma.

Canoo said its new battery manufacturing plant would be located in the same industrial park as its future MegaMicro plant. Once completed, the plant will have about 3200MWh battery module manufacturing capacity.

Tony Aquila, chief executive and chairman of Canoo, said the plant would produce proprietary battery modules, energy management systems and thermal control technology.

Canoo says it has improved and validated its battery module manufacturing in recent months and is waiting for the delivery of machines from the new plant.

Canoo was founded in 2017 by two of Faraday's future former employees and is headquartered in California. Its goal is to build electric cars for future cities. The company is currently developing several flagship electric vehicles, including multi-purpose delivery trucks (MPDV) and Canoo pickups.

Last October, Canoo announced an agreement with Panasonic to supply batteries to its Lifestyle Vehicle electric vehicles.

In May, it was reported that Apple was going to buy Canoo to further boost its development in this area. There have been rumors that Apple is going to build a car, and the company's first-generation car is likely to be a fully autonomous electric car.
