Foreign media reports show that after surpassing South Korean manufacturers for the first time last year and ending Korean manufacturers'17 consecutive dominance in the global panel market, the global share of domestic panel manufacturers will further increase this year, from 41.5% last year to 43%.

Last year, South Korean panel makers accounted for 33.2% of the global market. If there is any decline this year, the gap with domestic manufacturers in the global market share will exceed 10%.

Foreign media said in the report that in terms of LCD panels, the share of domestic manufacturers reached 50.9% last year, while that of South Korean manufacturers was 14.4%. With Samsung display and LG display successively abandoning the LCD panel business, the market share of South Korean manufacturers in this panel field will continue to decline.

South Korean manufacturers still dominate OLED panels with better display results and higher prices and profits, but their share is declining, from 98.1 per cent in 2016 to 82.8 per cent last year, while the share of domestic manufacturers has increased from 1.1 per cent to 16.6 per cent over the same period.
