CTOnews.com, Nov. 3, Microsoft has invested in Wemade, the developer of the Legend series. Wemade announced that it has received about $46 million (currently about 336 million yuan) from a number of companies, including Microsoft, in a new round of investment.

While it is not clear how much of the $46 million came from Microsoft, Wemade said it had been "very successful in attracting foreign strategic investors with superior conditions".

CTOnews.com learned that Wemade was founded in 2000 to develop PC and mobile games. The company's most famous franchise is the MMORPG game Legend series. After the game was introduced into China by Shanda game, it triggered a boom in playing, with more than 200 million people registered at one time.

However, Wemade has now turned to blockchain and NFT games, while Phil Spencer, Microsoft's game director, had publicly said that NFT games "felt more exploitative than entertainment" for him, adding in August that he was "cautious" about playing blockchain games that made money.
