CTOnews.com November 3 news, market research firm Strategy Analytics today released the third quarter of 2022 notebook market data. The market for laptops is still poor this year, with shipments down 15% compared with last year.

CTOnews.com has learned that data show that notebook sales reached 56.1 million units in the third quarter of 2022, down 15 per cent from a year earlier.

The top three notebook markets in the third quarter of 2022 are Lenovo, Hewlett-Packard and Dell, with a market share of 23%, 17% and 16%, respectively. In addition, most manufacturers' sales fell year-on-year, except for apple's MacBook, which grew 26% and sold 8.1 million units in the third quarter, with a share of 14%.

Chirag Upadhyay, an industry analyst at Strategy Analytics, said: "compared with pre-epidemic levels, most manufacturers continue to perform well as business upgrades continue and the number of consumers continues to pose a challenge for all manufacturers except Apple.
