CTOnews.com news on November 3, Lenovo released its mid-term results for the fiscal year 2022-2023 at noon on November 3. Lenovo's revenue in the second quarter was $17.09 billion, down 4% from the same period last year, with an estimated $16.85 billion and a net profit of $541 million and an estimated $473 million.

Revenue for the six months ended September 30 was $34.045 billion, down 2 per cent from a year earlier, revenue for smart device business groups was down 7 per cent from a year earlier, and profit attributable to equity holders was $1.057 billion, up 8 per cent from a year earlier. Second-quarter revenue was $17.09 billion, down 4 per cent from a year earlier, while profit attributable to equity holders was $541 million, up 6 per cent from a year earlier. The Board declared an interim dividend of HK8 cents per share, or approximately US $123.6 million, for the six months ended September 30.

Lenovo Group disclosed in the financial report that the industry intelligent transformation solution developed by the company has been applied to nearly 1,000 enterprises and institutions, such as Ningde era, Sany heavy Industry, Southern Power Grid, Comac, and Lulai Automobile.

The revenue of SSG solution Services Business Group increased by 26% over the same period last year, accounting for 10.1% of the group's total revenue, breaking the double-digit mark for the first time. ISG Infrastructure Solutions business revenue reached a record of 17.9 billion yuan, an increase of 33% over the same period last year, and remained profitable for the fourth consecutive quarter.

Specifically, in the second quarter, SSG continued to maintain strong growth, accounting for 10.1% of the group's total revenue, breaking through double digits for the first time, establishing the company's position as a new growth engine. Revenue increased by 26% year-on-year, operating profit margin further increased to 21.4%, and all segments of the business once again achieved high growth and high profits at the same time.

The turnover of non-hardware-driven solutions and services accounts for 52% of SSG's overall business. TruScale as a service continued to grow, driving revenue from operation and maintenance services to grow 69 per cent year-on-year.

Benefiting from the strong growth of the IT infrastructure market, the ISG infrastructure solutions business reached an all-time high of 17.9 billion yuan in revenue in the second quarter, up 33% from a year earlier. The operating profit reached 250 million yuan, making a profit for the fourth consecutive quarter.

Cloud service IT infrastructure business grew by 57.5% compared with the same period last year, thanks to a balance between scale and profit, strengthening the core competitiveness of independent design, manufacturing, supply to delivery, and breakthroughs in head customers, resulting in a significant increase in the share of the Internet industry; enterprise IT infrastructure business grew by 9.3% year-on-year, both exceeding the expected growth rate of the overall market.

In addition, the high-profit and high-tech product portfolio continued to grow, with smart edge computing revenue up nearly 300 per cent year-on-year, storage revenue up 115 per cent and server revenue up 28 per cent year-on-year.

In the second quarter, IDG's smart device business achieved revenue of 93.8 billion yuan and operating profit of 6.98 billion yuan.

Lenovo's medium-term plan to double R & D investment continues: this fiscal quarter, R & D investment increased by 15% compared with the same period last year, and R & D personnel increased by 26%.
