CTOnews.com, Nov. 3 (Xinhua)-- according to Nomura Securities, an investment bank, Apple is "abnormally increasing" production orders for ordinary models of the iPhone 14.

Nomura believes that the possible reasons are: 1, to digest the spare parts and production capacity released after the production reduction of iPhone 14 Plus; 2, to prepare for special promotions.

Nomura speculates that Apple may be preparing for an unprecedented price cut promotion at the end of this quarter or the first half of next year to boost demand and eliminate inventory. Nomura expects total iPhone production to face three consecutive quarters of recession after an annual increase of 13 per cent in the third quarter, with losses of 6 per cent, 8 per cent and 11 per cent in the fourth quarter and the first and second quarters of next year.
