Beijing, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) just days after Tesla CEO Elon Musk took over the company, a Twitter employee shared a photo that appeared to be his boss sleeping on the office floor.

In the photo, Esther Crawford, the product management director of the social media giant, wears an eye patch, wrapped in a sleeping bag and placed on a sleeping mat.

Concerns have been expressed about the poor treatment of Mr Musk's employees.

"this is so sad," one Twitter user wrote. " Another Twitter user wrote: "Management failure at best and out-and-out masochism at worst."

Product manager Evan Jones tweeted around 2am while Crawford tweeted: "when your team works day and night to meet deadlines, sometimes you sleep at work." The next morning, people familiar with the matter contacted Jones and Crawford, but they did not immediately respond.

Twitter managers reportedly require some employees to work 12 hours a day, seven days a week, while some managers sleep in the office on Friday and Saturday nights.

Since Musk was in charge of Twitter, Twitter employees have worked much longer hours than usual, and his team has assigned them big tasks with tight deadlines. Some of the company's employees see the tasks as a test for the Musk team to see who works hard, fearing that their jobs could be threatened by the threat of upcoming layoffs.
