CTOnews.com, Nov. 3 (Xinhua)-- GMC HUMMER EV is known as a "super truck", and now the carmaker has announced the launch of a "super electric bike" to match it. GMC has partnered with Recon Power Bike, a maker of electric bicycles, to create a joint e-bike whose biggest feature is all-wheel drive, like GMC HUMMER EV.

GMC HUMMER EV electric bike is a hard-tailed fat tire off-road bike with two hub motors that provide all-wheel drive. Each motor has a rated power of 750W and a peak of 1200W, which means the bike can output 2400 watts at full speed, which enables it to reach a top speed of 28 miles (45 kilometers) per hour. The bike also uses a pair of four-piston hydraulic discs.

The GMC HUMMER EV electric bicycle battery has a capacity of 1 kilowatt-hour, and the battery can be removed for easy charging. Although the electric bike offers all-wheel drive, there are actually three drive modes that allow the rider to turn off one of the motors.

CTOnews.com learned that HUMMER EV e-bikes sell for $3999 (about 29113 yuan) overseas.
