Miniaturized free electron coherent light source according to the Wechat official account of Shanghai Institute of Optics and Mechanics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the research team experimentally explored the dynamic process of femtosecond laser-driven ultrashort electron pulse pumped surface equiionizing polaritons (surface plasmon polariton,SPP). Through the observation of the dynamic process of free electron pulse pumped SPP coherent amplification, the stimulated amplification mechanism in the process of free electron interaction with SPP is expounded. In this study, ultrafast optical technology is used to detect the whole process of free electron stimulated radiation amplification, and the research results point out a new way to realize coherent amplification by free electron pumped SPP, which is of great significance for the development of miniaturized / integrated coherent light sources.
