A recent Google blog post explains how the new feature works: users click on search results and are redirected to a web page. Then, the Google button pops up on the address bar that says, "Open search in the side panel." Clicking this button will open the sidebar and display the search page that the user visited previously. CTOnews.com learned that users can click on other results, which will open in the main window of the tab. Users can also conduct a new search if they wish.

This function is similar to the sidebar of Microsoft Edge and is very convenient for comparing various search options. Users no longer need to click the back button endlessly to find the desired results.

This is not the first sidebar feature of Chrome. Back in March, Google launched a similar feature that gives users quick access to their reading lists and bookmarks.

In addition, Google browser has acquired a new price tracking feature that has been in Android apps for months. When the user logs in to the browser and visits the store page, the track Price button is displayed. If users click this button, once the product becomes cheaper, they will be notified via email. However, it is not yet in normal operation.
