CTOnews.com November 2 news, June 24, China's first desktop operating system open source root community openKylin (Open Kirin) was officially released. The openKylin community aims to take "co-creation" as the core, on the basis of open source, voluntary, equality and cooperation, to build a partner ecosystem with enterprises through open source and open way, to jointly create a top community of desktop operating systems, and to promote the ecological prosperity and development of Linux open source technology and its software and hardware.

Yesterday, openKylin officially announced that after more than 4 months of development, the number of community unit members has exceeded 100.

According to reports, the fields of community unit members include CPU, GPU, ODM, OEM, as well as manufacturers, universities and organizations such as office, security, network, artificial intelligence, and application software, through the combination of industry head partners to achieve a wide range of technological collaborative innovation, industrial ecological co-construction and brand joint empowerment, and jointly promote the development of China's open source industry.

By the end of October, community members had created and participated in 17 SIG groups, including kernel, hardware architecture, user interaction, AI, security and other key technologies of the operating system, and partners worked together to make continuous contributions to the creation of a new ecology for the "next generation" operating system.

CTOnews.com learned that in the future, the openKylin community will expand the breadth of ecological construction and the depth of technological innovation, and invite software and hardware manufacturers, non-profit organizations, community organizations, institutions of higher learning and scientific research institutions to join them to create an "industry-led, platform-independent, technologically advanced and ecologically rich" desktop operating system root community.
