On November 2, Uber reported third-quarter results for the quarter ended September 30, 2022. During the reporting period, Uber achieved revenue of $8.343 billion (currently about 60.737 billion yuan), an increase of 72 percent year-on-year, and a net loss of $1.206 billion (currently about 8.78 billion yuan). The net loss for the same period last year was $2.424 billion, down 50 percent from the same period last year.

Regionally, Uber has the fastest revenue growth in the US and Canada, rising 89 per cent to $5 billion; Europe, Africa and the Middle East up 77 per cent to $1.878 billion; Latin America up 33 per cent to $518 million; and the Asia-Pacific region up 27 per cent to $947 million.

Uber's third-quarter orders totaled $29.1 billion (currently about 211.848 billion yuan), of which ride-hailing service orders totaled $13.7 billion (currently about 99.736 billion yuan), up 38 percent from a year earlier; delivery orders totaled $13.7 billion (currently about 997.36 billion yuan), up 7 percent from a year earlier, and the total was lower than analysts had expected.

In the third quarter, the number of monthly active users of Uber was 124 million, up 14% from the same period last year; the number of trips was 1.95 billion, up 19% from the same period last year.
