Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens Wu Yanzu in South China for the delivery of clues! CTOnews.com, November 1, in addition to releasing the latest data on Windows and other desktop operating systems, Statcounter also released the latest findings on browsers. The October 2022 report shows no dramatic changes compared with previous months, indicating that Microsoft Edge is struggling to break through 11% of the market.

Google Chrome is unsurprisingly still the dominant browser, although it lost 1.12 percent in October 2022, according to Statcounter. Microsoft Edge is the second most popular desktop browser in the world, with a share of 10.85% (+ 0.05%), which has remained relatively unchanged for the past five months.

Apple's Safari browser ranks third with a 9.38% share (+ 0.45%). Firefox Firefox ranked fourth with 7.05% share (- 0.22%), while Opera ranked fifth with 3.61% share (+ 0.67%). CTOnews.com has learned that IE also has about 0.8 per cent of the global desktop browser market. Microsoft plans to disable IE11 on certain versions of Windows 10 after February 14, 2023.

On the mobile side of the browser market, the situation is slightly different. Most users choose between Google's Chrome browser and Apple's Safari browser, while Microsoft Edge is stuck in the "other" section and its market share is too small to show on the chart.

Opera:1.81% (- 0.05)
