CTOnews.com, November 1, PCIe 5.0 SSD will be launched this month according to the plans of AMD and its partners.

CTOnews.com learned that at the 2022 Flash Summit, AMD and Groupon demonstrated the E26 master PCIe Gen5 SSD running on the Ruilong 7000 platform with read speeds up to 10GB / s.

It is reported that the current E26 master chip with 2400MT / s bandwidth 3D-TLC flash memory can achieve an ultra-fast read speed of 10 GB / s. After that, the manufacturer will continue to verify the new generation of materials and NAND flash memory particles, so that the overall performance can be further improved, and the reading speed can reach more than 12 GB / s.

For reference, the initial model of the PCIe 4.0 can reach 5GB / s, while the current flagship model can reach more than 7GB / s, such as Samsung's new flagship SSD 990 PRO sequential read speed of 7450 MB/s.
