Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
CTOnews.com, November 1 (Reuters)-Tesla's goal is to start mass production of Cybertruck electric pickup trucks by the end of 2023, two years later than the long-awaited target announced by Tesla CEO Musk in 2019, according to Reuters.
Tesla said last month that he was working to build new models at his plant in Austin, Texas, and that "early production" would begin in mid-2023. "We are in the final phase of Cybertruck," Musk said on a conference call with financial analysts.
Production of the CyberTruck electric pickup truck will gradually increase in the second half of 2023, which means that Tesla will not record income until early 2024, as production of the new model is seen as the key to its growth.
It also means that in the most anticipated and closely followed electric vehicle launch in history, hundreds of thousands of potential buyers are estimated to have paid $100 to book Tesla's Cybertruck, and they will have to wait another year.
Tesla did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Tesla has not announced the final pricing of the Cybertruck, has not shown a mass-production version of the car, or said how the battery supply of the new model will be managed.
In 2019, Tesla expected the initial price of the Cybertruck to be less than $40000 (about 292000 yuan), but the price of new cars has skyrocketed since then, and Tesla has raised the price of the entire product line, CTOnews.com learned.
The launch of Tesla's Cybertruck will give Tesla a new track entrance in one of the most lucrative areas of the US market and become a competitor to electric pickups by companies such as Ford and Rivian Automotive, which still offer a limited number of models.
In January, Mr Musk said a shortage of procured components was the reason for delaying the launch of the Cybertruck until 2023.
In May this year, Tesla stopped accepting Cybertruck orders from outside North America. Musk said at the time that the company "had more orders for the first Cybertruck than we could have completed within three years after we started production."
For brand-new models like the Cybertruck, carmakers usually slowly increase production.
Analysts also warn that the weak global economy will begin to affect Tesla's sales, and Tesla has been able to sell every car he produces so far. Mr Musk has said that the coming recession is expected to "probably last into the spring of 2024".
The IDRA Group, the Italian company that makes Giga Press die-casting machines, which will be used for Cybertruck's die-casting parts, said in a LinkedIn post last week that 9000 tons of die-casting machines for truck parts had been packed and ready for shipment.
Tesla is not mentioned in the post. Tesla has been using Giga Press to reduce the production cost and complexity of Model Y, and other automakers, including Toyota, are also working on this innovation.
