CTOnews.com, Nov. 1 (Xinhua)-- an independent developer of horror games based on Infinity Furniture Store has received a letter from an Ikea lawyer asking him to delete similar content from the furniture store scene.

CTOnews.com learned that Shop closed is an online coop survival game with an unlimited furniture store in the background. Players are trapped in an endless furniture store, trying to fight mutant employees who attack at night in order to survive. Players must explore stores, including different departments, underground SCP labs and floating departments in the air to find a way out. When the lights go out and the store closes, the staff will become aggressive. Fortunately, the world is full of furniture that can be used to make weapons and build fortifications to spend the night.

The lawyer's letter said Shaw had 10 days to "change the rules of the game and remove all tags associated with the famous Ikea store" and list all content it believes infringed upon the Ikea brand.

Your game uses blue and yellow signs with the name Scandinavian in the store, a blue box-shaped building, the same yellow vertical pointed shirt worn by Ikea personnel, gray paths on the floor, furniture that looks like Ikea furniture, and product signs that look like Ikea signs.

In an interview with Kotaku, Shaw refuted the idea that the furniture in the game "looks like Ikea furniture", saying, "I bought a general furniture resource kit to make this game, and I don't know what Ikea means."

Shaw said he was seeking legal advice, but he may have to give up because of potential legal costs. "now I have to desperately change the overall appearance of the game so that I won't be sued."
