CTOnews.com news on November 1, according to SPIC ("National Power Investment") news, 15:18 on October 31, the State Power Investment Offshore Wind Farm South of Shandong Peninsula No. 3 offshore wind farm 20 MW deep-sea floating photovoltaic 500kW demonstration project successfully generated power, becoming the world's first floating photovoltaic project with far-reaching sea scenery in the same field.

According to reports, the project is located in the sea area south of Haiyang City, Shandong Province, 30 kilometers offshore and 30 meters deep. The 500 kilowatt floating offshore photovoltaic is composed of two annular floating units with an installed capacity of 250 kilowatts, which is composed of annular anti-wind and wave floating body, high-strength thin film resistant to marine environment, photovoltaic system and so on.

A total of 770 photovoltaic modules have been installed on a floating unit with a diameter of 53 meters and an area equivalent to four standard basketball courts, and the clean power generated by it is converged to the inverter and sent to the Peninsula South No. 3 fan platform running in the same field. subsequently, it will be sent to the power grid through offshore booster stations. The empirical project verifies the wind and wave resistance of floating body, anchoring and power generation components and the weather resistance of marine environment, and verifies the technical feasibility of grid connection of scenery in the same field.

Different from the existing offshore photovoltaic projects in sheltered and offshore areas, this demonstration project is the first floating offshore photovoltaic project to be studied and built in the "double 30" marine environment with a distance of 30 kilometers offshore, a water depth of 30 meters and an extreme wave height of 10 meters. It adopts Norwegian Ocean Sun's patented elastic thin film technology, anchoring system design and marine environment-resistant photovoltaic modules customized by Xiexin.

CTOnews.com learned that according to the person in charge of the project, the annular anti-wave floating body of the offshore photovoltaic power station is prefabricated from high-density polyethylene pipe fittings, with a height of 0.6m to 0.8m, anchoring to the seabed through 4 mooring points and 12 cables, keeping a safe distance of more than 60m from the fan. A new type of photovoltaic module platform is built in the middle of the floating body, and customized photovoltaic modules are used according to sea conditions, which can reduce the impact of waves on the photovoltaic panel. At the same time, the photovoltaic module is connected with an elastic film by a prefabricated slide rail and is in direct contact with the sea water through the thin film. The cooling of water to photovoltaic equipment can effectively improve the power generation efficiency by more than 10%.

The successful power generation of the project marks the completion of the important stage goal of the task and a major breakthrough in the research of the floating photovoltaic project with far-reaching sea scenery.
