November 1 news, according to foreign media reports, rocket manufacturer Firefly Aerospace (Firefly Aerospace) company plans to carry out a new round of financing, to raise no more than 300 million US dollars (currently about 2.19 billion yuan).

In early October this year, Firefly Aerospace's alpha rocket successfully went into space, joining companies such as SpaceX and rocket laboratories.

Sources said that Firefly Aerospace plans to complete financing by the end of this year, and the company has not yet specified the market valuation in the new round of financing. When AE Industrial Partners, the private equity firm, became the controlling shareholder in March, Firefly was valued at more than $1 billion.

Bill Bill Weber, chief executive of Firefly Aerospace, said in a recent interview that the company was raising money but did not provide details. Spokesmen for Firefly Aerospace and AE Industrial Partners declined to comment when asked about the financing.

Weber said in an interview that the new money would help the company complete the construction of an alpha rocket manufacturing facility in Cape Canaveral, Florida, and accelerate Firefly Aerospace's plan to develop larger rockets in partnership with NOC.N.

Firefly's alpha rocket entered Earth orbit for the first time on October 1, becoming one of the few private space companies capable of launching small satellites into space.

Firefly Aerospace's alpha rocket is 95 feet high and can provide medium-sized rocket launch services for various agencies. At present, Firefly Aerospace has won a lot of orders, with a single launch cost of 15 million US dollars. By comparison, SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket costs $62 million per launch, while the Rocket Lab Electronics rocket is even smaller, with a price tag of $7 million for a single launch.

Investment in aerospace companies with capital-intensive projects fell in the third quarter of this year, as rising inflation and rapidly rising interest rates forced investors to focus on companies with viable products.

Venture capital investment in aerospace companies fell 44 per cent in the third quarter from a year earlier, according to a report by venture capital firm Space Capital.
