CTOnews.com learned that the Shanghai-Nanjing-Hefei high-speed railway is an important part of the Shanghai-Chongqing-Rong high-speed railway. Among them, the eastern end of Anhui section connects with Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province, and passes westward through Nanqiao District and Quanjiao County of Chuzhou City, Feidong County, Baohe District and Yaohai District of Hefei City, introducing Hefei South Station of Hefei Hub; the new main line is about 103 kilometers long and has a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour.

There are three stations in the Anhui section of the Shanghai-Nanjing-Hefei high-speed railway, of which Dashu Station is the newly built station and Chuzhou and Feidong are the reconstruction and expansion stations. The proportion of bridges and tunnels on the whole line accounts for 89%, of which the reconstruction and expansion of Feidong Station is a controlled project. The Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway bridge located in Nanqiao District of Chuzhou City, the Shanghai-Shaanxi Expressway Bridge located in Feidong County and the Fengshan Tunnel in Quanjiao County are the most important and difficult projects on the whole line.

The high-speed railway from Shanghai to Nanjing to Hefei is an important part of the "eight vertical and eight horizontal" in the national medium-and long-term railway network planning. it is a fast and direct access between the cities along the Yangtze River and the Nanjing metropolitan area and the Shanghai metropolitan area. it undertakes the transportation of passenger flow from the main road network along the river, coastal and Beijing-Shanghai corridor to Shanghai.
