On October 31, with the successful launch of the Mengtian experimental module, the construction of China's space station entered the final stage. Since then, the basic configuration of the "T" of the third module of the Chinese space station will soon be completed. This process was recorded by Liu Boyang, a post-90s doctor of astrophysics, from the ground 400 kilometers away.

It is reported that Liu Boyang independently developed the optical tracking program, and after more than 40 shots, he left extremely precious folk image records in the process of Tiangong's construction from the core module to the earth-shaped, L-shaped, and then to T-shaped construction. It has become the first person in China to use optical tracking technology to photograph a high-definition Chinese space station.

On April 29, 2021, the Tianhe core module was launched into orbit, and the construction of the Chinese space station officially began. In March 2022, Liu Boyang realized that this year will be the most intensive year for the construction of China's space station. with the withdrawal of Tianzhou-3 from the space station to the launch of Tianzhou-4 and Shenzhou-14, and the launch of the Tiantian experimental module and Mengtian experimental module, "the shape of the Chinese space station may be different from month to month, or even from day to day."

To this end, Liu Boyang spent more than ten days developing an optical tracking program that allows telescopes to automatically capture a space station moving at a high speed 400 kilometers away from the ground. After many failures and debugging, on April 19 this year, Liu Boyang took high-definition images of the Chinese space station for the first time in Hengshui, Hebei Province. Since then, he has photographed the space station more than 40 times, recording the complete process of the configuration change of the Chinese space station.

Liu Boyang said: for many years, domestic astronomy enthusiasts can only watch and shoot the International Space Station. Now that China has its own space station, we are very lucky to be able to witness the beginning of China's great space era as an astronomical photographer.
