CTOnews.com, October 31 (Xinhua)-- Boeing China official Weibo announced that on October 28, Boeing and Guangzhou aircraft maintenance Engineering Co., Ltd. (GAMECO) celebrated the completion of China's first 767-300 Boeing modified cargo aircraft (BCF) in GAMECO's Guangzhou conversion line.

Gao Sixiang, vice president of global sales of Boeing Civil aircraft Group, said: "this marks the delivery of the first 767-300BCF completed by GAMECO, and there will be more such deliveries in the future. GAMECO's retrofit line in Guangzhou ensures that we have the production capacity to meet the needs of our customers in China and around the world. GAMECO has demonstrated their technical expertise, commitment and ability to overcome difficulties in implementing retrofit projects, and in addition to GAMCO's successful 737-800BCF project, we will continue to rely on them to promote the success of medium-sized wide-body BCF projects. "

With the recent increase in production capacity, GAMECO currently operates two 767-300BCF retrofit lines and three 737-800BCF retrofit lines. Their first 767-300BCF retrofit line began in the second quarter of this year, and the second in September. Boeing has previously announced that it will open eight new 737-800BCF retrofit lines with existing and new partners in China and other countries around the world.

Marc Szepan, general manager of GAMECO, said: "the support and trust provided by Boeing in the first 767-300BCF modification is the key to successful certification and delivery. GAMECO currently operates five Boeing modification production lines and will continue to increase productivity and efficiency to support Boeing and their customers. Their support enables us to further develop our business and lay a solid foundation for the next few years."

CTOnews.com learned that the Boeing 767 is a medium-sized wide-body airliner designed to compete with the Airbus A310, a sister product with the Boeing 757, and a longer series of models. The Boeing 767-300BCF is a modified Boeing freighter that allows users to develop in a variety of remote, regional and transshipment markets, with more than 100 orders and purchase intentions.

According to Boeing's Civil Aviation Market Outlook in 2022, Boeing predicts that there will be a demand for 1855 modified freighters in the next 20 years. The report also predicts that the global fleet of freighters, including original and modified freighters, will grow by 80% by 2041. The expanded partnership between Boeing and GAMECO will ensure greater readiness and responsiveness to meet the long-term market forecast demand for modified freighters.
