CTOnews.com October 30 news, Tianfeng International analyst Guo Mingyi today posted some production changes in Apple's iPhone supply chain via Twitter, involving Hon Hai Foxconn, Pegatron, Lixun Precision and so on.

Mr Guo said Foxconn had planned to gradually reduce iPhone capacity from November to December to deal with seasonal problems. After the Zhengzhou Foxconn iPhone plant enters closed-loop production, the plan to reduce iPhone capacity will be delayed. Since the Zhengzhou Foxconn iPhone plant suddenly entered closed-loop production without warning, more than 10 per cent of global iPhone capacity will be affected. However, this incident has not changed the current iPhone supply chain shipments forecast. Foxconn's capacity is expected to increase gradually in a few weeks, and the impact on 4Q22 iPhone shipments should be limited.

Apple is in discussions with Pegatron and Lixun to convert the iPhone 14 Plus production line to iPhone 14 Pro / 14 Pro Max. Lixun expects to start shipping iPhone 14 Pro at the beginning of Q1 in 2023 at the earliest.

CTOnews.com learned that in September this year, Guo Mingyi said that Apple asked Hon Hai Foxconn to switch the production line of iPhone 14 to the iPhone 14 Pro model. After the production line conversion, iPhone 14 Pro series shipments accounted for 60-65% of total iPhone 14 shipments in 2H22 (vs. The previous estimate is 55-60%). IPhone 14 Pro Max accounts for about 30-35% of total iPhone 14 series shipments in 2H22, making it the most popular iPhone 14 model.

Guo Mingyi said that Apple's iPhone 15 Pro will not be upgraded to an 8p lens, while the iPhone 15 Ultra is expected to use a periscope lens.
