Liu Tao, co-CEO of Zhiji Automotive Technology Co., Ltd., recently said on social media that the global shortage of AKC rear wheel steering system has indeed affected the current production and delivery progress of Zhiji L7.

CTOnews.com learned that Liu Tao pointed out that it is working with suppliers to coordinate resources to solve supply difficulties. At the same time, Liu Tao said frankly that the AKC rear wheel steering has been out of stock for more than two months, and Zhiji L7 does not plan to launch a version without AKC, saying that "AKC must be standard for luxury smart electric cars."

When talking about the reasons, Liu Tao said that the smart electric car must first be a solid and safe car. In the era of gasoline cars, taking Lamborghini as an example, it was powerful and fast, and when the yaw angle was too large when changing lanes on the highway, it was easy to overturn or lose stability, so it needed four-wheel steering to restrain the yaw of the whole car, which was later used by Mercedes-Benz and 7-Series. "in the current era of electric cars, with fast acceleration, large torque and 20,000 revolutions of motor, four-wheel steering is undoubtedly the ultimate technical solution for better and safer driving of electric vehicles."

According to the data, Zhiji L7 was delivered on June 18 and totaled 1051 units on July 31. In August, Zhiji L7 monthly sales reached 1007 units, an increase of 23.4% compared with September. Zhiji L7 delivered 1019 units, with a cumulative delivery of 3077 units.
