CTOnews.com, October 30 (Xinhua)-- Lego Mindstorms is Lego's robot series, which includes a complete set of software and hardware that allows users to build their own programmable robots. The series was founded in 1998 and has been released for three generations.

According to Lego's official announcement, it will stop the Mindstorms robot series by the end of this year and provide support for its mobile App for at least two years.

CTOnews.com learned that each Mindstorms includes a brick computer, several motors, several different sensors and a large number of Lego mechanical parts used to build mechanical structures, which have been launched for three generations:

The first generation: Lego Mindstorms RCX

Second generation: Lego Mindstorms NXT

The third generation: Lego Mindstorms EV3

The last official product of the Lego Mindstorms was the Robot Inventor in 2020, and there has been no new product since.

The ▲ Robot Inventor Lego team said: "there are many priorities in Lego education and other construction and coding experience, and we have decided to pool our resources and future plans by redirecting our Mindstorms Robot Inventor team and its expertise to different business areas."
