On October 29, Texas Instruments (TI) recently announced its third-quarter financial results, with operating income of $5.24 billion (currently about 37.99 billion yuan) and net income of $2.3 billion (currently about 16.675 billion yuan), or $2.47 per share (currently about 18 yuan). Of these, earnings per share included 2 cents not covered in the company's original plan.

With regard to the company's performance and shareholder returns, Rich Templeton, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of TI, made the following statement:

"income grew by 1% in a row, up 13% over the same period last year, roughly in line with expectations. In the current quarter, we experienced expected weak demand for personal electronic products and faced an expansion of weakness in the entire industrial market.

"in the past 12 months, operating cash flow reached $9 billion, reflecting once again the advantages of the company's business model. Free cash flow reached $5.9 billion in the past year, accounting for 29% of operating revenue. this reflects our high-quality product portfolio and efficient manufacturing strategy, including the production advantage of 12-inch analog products.

"over the past 12 months, investments in R & D and sales and administrative expenses amounted to $3.3 billion, while capital expenditure investments amounted to $3.1 billion, resulting in a return of $7.1 billion to shareholders.

Texas Instruments' forecast for the fourth quarter of 2022 is that operating revenue is between $4.4 billion and $4.8 billion and earnings per share are between $1.83 and $2.11. we expect the effective tax rate to be about 14% in 2022. "
