CTOnews.com, Oct. 29 (Xinhua)-- Apple's M2 iPad Pro 2022 supports ProRes video recording for the first time, but users can only use third-party apps because Apple's native camera apps don't seem to support the format, according to MacRumors.

CTOnews.com learned that the Apple M2 iPad Pro was released on October 18 and officially released on October 26. The first buyers are now starting to receive the new M2 iPad Pro and note that ProRes is not a setting option for the camera.

Mac Otakara pointed out that ProRes video recording on M2 iPad Pro requires third-party applications with new features, such as FiLMiC Pro. Apple did not respond to a request for comment on whether this was a mistake or whether native camera apps could record ProRes videos in future updates.

The new M2 iPad Pro comes in 11-inch and 12.9-inch versions, carries a M2 chip and supports Apple Pencil (second-generation) hovering. The 12.9-inch version uses mini-LED backlit multi-touch display, and the 11-inch version uses LED backlit multi-touch display.
