CTOnews.com, Oct. 29 (Reuters)-General Motors, the largest U.S. automaker, said on Friday that it had temporarily suspended paid advertising on Twitter after Elon Musk (Elon Musk) completed its acquisition of Twitter.

GM noted that "the company is in contact with Twitter to understand the direction of the platform under the new ownership. As a normal business process that has undergone major changes in the media platform, we have temporarily suspended paid advertising."

CTOnews.com learned that GM also said its "customer service interaction on Twitter will continue".

GM earned $41.9 billion (302.518 billion yuan) in revenue in the third quarter of 2022, up 56.4 percent from a year earlier, and net profit attributable to shareholders was $3.3 billion (23.826 billion yuan), up 36.6 percent from a year earlier, according to the financial report. Earnings per share were $2.25 (about 16 yuan).

Musk is also the chief executive of GM rival Tesla. CTOnews.com learned that in April, Musk offered to buy Twitter for $54.20 a share. On October 28, Musk completed the deal to privatize Twitter for $44 billion (about 317.68 billion yuan).
