Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com October 28 news, today, Strategy Analytics released a report that Q3 global smartphone shipments in 2022 fell 9% year-on-year to 297 million units.

According to the report, Samsung topped the global smartphone market with 22% market share in Q3 2022. Apple ranked second with 16 percent market share, its highest level in Q3 over the past 12 years. Xiaomi, OPPO (including Yijia) and vivo remained in the top five.

Strategy Analytics said it was the fifth consecutive quarter of annual decline in smartphone sales. Inventory adjustments and geopolitical issues adversely affected the smartphone market in Q3 this year. At the same time, adverse economic conditions continue to dent consumer demand for smartphones and other non-essential items.

According to the report, Apple shipped 49 million iPhones worldwide in Q3 2022, up 6% year-on-year and accounting for 16% of the global market share. This is Apple's highest market share in Q3 over the past 12 years, while leading Chinese brands have been dragged down by their sluggish performance in domestic and foreign markets. Apple had a good quarter, driven by the newly released iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, while demand for the iPhone 14 remained mixed.

In Q3 2022, in addition to the top five, Voice, Glory, Realme, Lenovo-Motorola and Huawei ranked in the top ten. Among them, Huawei achieved annual growth in smartphone shipments this quarter, mainly driven by the healthy demand for 4G smartphones in China, such as Nova 10 series, P50 and Mate 50.

CTOnews.com understands that Strategy Analytics expects global smartphone shipments to decline by 9% to 10% year-on-year for the full year of 2022.
