From January to September, the business income of the postal industry (excluding the direct business income of the Postal savings Bank) totaled 995.1 billion yuan, an increase of 7.2 percent over the same period last year, and the postal industry mailing and delivery business totaled 101.31 billion pieces, an increase of 5.2 percent over the same period last year.

In September, the business income of the whole industry reached 115.92 billion yuan, an increase of 4.1 percent over the same period last year, while the postal service volume completed 12.05 billion pieces, an increase of 2.8 percent over the same period last year.

From January to September, the business volume of postal delivery services totaled 21.3 billion pieces, an increase of 9.1 percent over the same period last year, and revenue from postal delivery services totaled 29.2 billion yuan, an increase of 3.2 percent over the same period last year.

In September, the business volume of postal delivery services completed 2.34 billion pieces, an increase of 3.0 percent over the same period last year, and revenue from postal delivery services reached 3.13 billion yuan, down 1.2 percent from the same period last year.

From January to September, the postal mail business completed a total of 650 million pieces, down 23.6% from the same period last year; the parcel business completed 12.464 million pieces, down 7.4% from the same period last year; the newspaper business completed 123.6 billion copies, up 0.4% from the same period last year; the magazine business completed a total of 5.2 billion copies, up 0.9% from the same period last year; and the exchange business completed 3.396 million transactions, down 31.9% from the same period last year.

CTOnews.com learned that data from the State Post Bureau show that from January to September, the business volume of express delivery enterprises across the country totaled 80.01 billion, an increase of 4.2 percent over the same period last year, and business revenue totaled 768.89 billion yuan, an increase of 3.5 percent over the same period last year. Of these, 9.49 billion pieces of business were completed in the same city, down 6.0% from the same period last year; 69.14 billion pieces of business were completed in other places, up 6.2% from the same period last year; and 1.38 billion pieces of international / Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan business were completed, down 12.6% from the same period last year.

In September, the business volume of national express service enterprises completed 9.71 billion pieces, an increase of 2.8% over the same period last year, and business revenue reached 92.46 billion yuan, an increase of 0.3% over the same period last year.

From January to September, the volume of express delivery in the same city, other places, and international / Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan accounted for 11.9%, 86.4% and 1.7% of the total express business respectively, and the business revenue accounted for 6.6%, 49.3% and 10.8% of the total express business revenue, respectively. Compared with the same period last year, the proportion of express business in the same city decreased by 1.3 percentage points, that of other places increased by 1.6 percentage points, and that of international / Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan express services decreased by 0.3 percentage points.

From January to September, the proportion of express business volume in the eastern, central and western regions was 76.9%, 15.6% and 7.5% respectively, and the proportion of business income was 77.4%, 13.4% and 9.2%, respectively.

Compared with the same period last year, the proportion of express business volume and revenue in the eastern region decreased by 1.4 percentage points and 0.9 percentage points respectively.

The proportion of express business volume in the central region increased by 1.3 percentage points, and the proportion of express business revenue increased by 0.6 percentage points.

In the western region, the proportion of express business volume increased by 0.1 percentage points, and the proportion of express business income increased by 0.3 percentage points.
