According to news in the morning of October 28, Beijing time, Tesla Cybersquad for Kids children's electric motorcycle has been recalled by its manufacturer Radio Flyer because it does not comply with safety regulations.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) found that the product violated federal safety regulations for all-terrain vehicles (ATV) for children. The agency believes that the mechanical suspension and maximum tire pressure of the equipment are insufficient. In addition, Cybersquad for Kids lacks a certified ATV action plan that sets out the safety requirements for the manufacture, import, sale or distribution of all-terrain vehicles in the United States.

Total Cybersquad for Kids sales were about 5000 vehicles, CPSC said in the recall notice. Tesla sells this product through his website. Radio Flyer said that all consumers who buy the product should immediately return its motor controller (once the part is removed, the Cybersquad will expire permanently) and receive a refund of $1900. The company will also provide at least some compensation for the cost of refunding motor controllers and other components. It is not clear whether the new Cybersquad for Kids will continue to be sold after that.

The Cybersquad for Kids has a maximum range of 15 miles and a top speed of 10 miles per hour. The product is equipped with a metal frame, soft cushions and LED light strips. Although there have been no reports of serious injuries, Radio Flyer said the company found that a woman and a child overturned while driving a Cybersquad for Kids and injured her shoulder in an accident. It is important to note, however, that this product was originally only allowed to drive alone.

Radio Flyer pointed out that in addition to being responsible for sales, Tesla mainly provides advice on the appearance of this product. Tesla launched the standard version of Cybersquad when launching the Cybertruck pickup, while the Cybersquad for Kids has a similar appearance to the standard version of Cybersquad. Radio Flyer also said it would sell a driverable children's toy version of Tesla.

In fact, Tesla is also recalling a product: more than 24000 Model 3s made since 2017 are included in the recall because of possible seat belt problems.
