CTOnews.com, October 28 (Xinhua)-- Apple's new tenth-generation iPad comes with a slower USB-C port than the new iPad Pro, iPad Air and iPad mini models.

In a new iPad review released this week, The Verge pointed out that the data transfer speed of the USB-C port of iPad 10 is limited to the 480 Mbps supported by USB 2.0. It means that despite the USB-C interface, the data transmission speed of the tenth generation iPad is the same as that of the ninth generation iPad with the Lightning interface.

All other iPad models with USB-C interfaces have faster data transfer speeds. For example, iPad Pro models equipped with M1 and newer chips are compatible with Lightning 4, data transmission speeds can reach 40Gbps, fifth-generation iPad Air can reach 10Gbps, and fourth-generation iPad Air and the latest iPad mini can reach 5Gbps.

This restriction may not be important for most users in the iPad 10 target market, but it is still important information that may cause some users of commonly used wired data to choose iPad mini or iPad Air instead.

CTOnews.com learned that the main new features of the 10th generation iPad compared to previous entry-level models include a larger 10.9in display, narrower frame, A14 bionic chip, USB-C port, Touch ID power button, horizontally placed FaceTime camera, cellular support for 5G Magi WiFi 6, and new Magic Keyboard Folio accessories with a row of function keys.
