According to reports on the evening of October 27, Beijing time, Google announced today that it will appeal against a $4.1 billion (about 29.438 billion yuan) Android antitrust fine imposed by the European Union General Court of Justice (General Court), the second highest court in Europe.

"We are going to appeal to the European Court of Justice (Court of Justice of the European Union), the European Supreme Court," a Google spokesman said today. "according to regulations, the deadline for filing a lawsuit is December 1 this year."

The case began in July 2018, when the European Commission announced an antitrust fine of 4.34 billion euros ($5.15 billion at the time) on Google. The reason is that Google has imposed some illegal restrictions on Android equipment manufacturers and mobile operators by virtue of its dominant position in the Internet search market.

Google subsequently appealed against the EU ruling. In September, the European Court of Justice, the second highest court in Europe, ruled that Google abused its dominant position in the mobile search market, but reduced the fine to 4.125 billion euros ($4.126 billion) from the previous 4.34 billion euros.

Today, Google decided to appeal again to the European Supreme Court. It is reported that Google can only appeal to the European Court of Justice on legal issues.
