CTOnews.com, Oct. 27 (Xinhua)-- as inflation continues in the United States, SpaceX has raised the rate for its rocket-sharing launch service by 20%. At the same time, it has also adjusted the starting price for launches to many projects, including the low Earth orbit (LEO), including the Falcon 9 and Falcon heavy rockets.

The SpaceX starts at $67 million (about 481 million yuan) for a single mission, which allows the Falcon 9 to send a 5.5-ton payload into the geostationary orbit (GTO) or eight tons into the same orbit via a Falcon heavy rocket, which costs $97 million (about 696 million yuan).

Per kilogram, that means the Falcon 9 charges $12181 and the Falcon heavy rocket $12125.

CTOnews.com learned that before the adjustment, the flight costs of the Falcon 9 and Falcon heavy rockets were $62 million and $90 million, respectively.

SpaceX uses rocket propellant 1 (RP-1) or kerosene as rocket fuel, but the latter is bidding at record highs because of inflation and regional conflicts.

In March, SpaceX made a pricing adjustment, saying: given the high level of inflation, missions purchased in 2022 but flying after 2023 may be subject to additional adjustments due to inflation.

At the time, the price of the SpaceX ride-sharing project went up, costing $1.1 million for a 200kg sun-synchronous orbital payload, up from $1 million for the same payload, $5000 for each additional kilogram, and an increase of $500per kilogram.
