This issue affects printers that communicate using Universal Print class drivers or Microsoft IPP class drivers, causing Windows to fail to recognize all of the printer's full functionality. CTOnews.com reported that Microsoft protected the affected devices from automatic upgrades to Win11 22H2.

Microsoft has now provided a fix for the issue, which will automatically download and fix the issue on affected devices running Win11 22H2. "Once the issue with the installed printer is resolved, the protection should be removed and you should be able to upgrade to Windows 11 version 22H2. "

Microsoft recommends that affected customers do not manually install Windows 11 2022 updates using Update Now or the MCT tool unless they confirm that the issue on their device is resolved and is no longer protected.
