In autumn, I like to shoot golden leaves, but when shooting fallen leaves and trees, I often encounter the trouble that autumn leaves are not yellow enough.

The trees were still green, and there was no feeling of autumn. Some leaves are half yellow and half green, and the atmosphere is not strong enough. There were also some leaves that had fallen before they could turn yellow.

It can be seen that shooting large golden leaves is not so simple.

This tutorial shares a few tips for turning green to yellow to enhance the atmosphere of autumn. It can be done with mobile phone retouching software or computer PS.

(1) Channel Mixer We can use the [Channel Mixer] function in ps to turn green leaves into yellow leaves. This procedure is extremely simple and the adjustment effect is relatively good, but it can only be used in ps.

After opening the photo, select Image-Adjustments-Channel Mixer to make the adjustments shown in the picture. Select the "red" channel, increase or decrease the green value by about 100 to 200, and then decrease the red and blue values. At this point the green leaves turn yellow.

Increasing the number of green can turn green into yellow in photos. But the whole image also has a serious color cast, and we can fix this color cast by reducing the red and blue values. Staring at the photo while adjusting, try again and again until you get the most satisfactory result.

(II) HSL hue tool can be used on the computer [HSL] tool or [hue saturation] tool, on the mobile phone can be used "spicy map" in the [HSL] tool. This is a relatively common use, the principle is also relatively simple adjustment method, mobile phones and computers can be completed.

Take ps as an example, open the photo and select "image"-"adjustment"-"hue saturation" to make the adjustment in the picture. Select "yellow" and slide the hue slider left; then select "green" and slide the hue slider left, and the green will turn yellow. Adjust saturation and brightness appropriately.

Why choose "yellow"? Because the green we usually see (such as green grass and green trees) is actually yellow. They have more yellow components and relatively less green components.

(3) Enhance the atmosphere with curves In addition to turning the leaves yellow, some friends also like to make the photos as a whole warm yellow to enhance the atmosphere of autumn. There are many ways to achieve this effect, we take [curve] as an example to see, this tool is very common, mobile phones and computers can be used.

After opening the curve, first select "Blue" and then pull down the curve to see the overall effect. If not, select Red again and pull the curve upward. Finally, you can choose the "green" curve and try it up and down to see which looks better.

(IV) White balance enhancement atmosphere In addition to late revision, you can also adjust the white balance of the camera during early shooting. Set the white balance to "cloudy/cloudy" mode, which is an icon of clouds. At this time, the photos taken will be warmer yellow.
