Since its launch, Tesla has repeatedly delayed the production and launch of Semi electric semitrailers, mainly because the company faces a shortage of chips in the global automotive industry and has to solve the problem of the capacity of 4680 batteries used in the truck.

In May this year, Tesla began to accept orders from ordinary customers for Semi electric trucks with a deposit of US $20, 000. At the end of August, Tesla shared some new photos of Semi electric semitrailers on his website. The photo shows that the steering wheel of the truck is centrally designed with a display panel on each side of the steering wheel.

In early September, Tesla's website showed that the company was recruiting technical staff for the "Semi Service Program" (Semi Service Program) to prepare for the delivery of Semi electric semitrailers to customers.

On October 6 this year, Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, said that delivery of Semi electric semitrailers would begin on December 1.
