Apple and today announced through a press release that it will step up cooperation with the supply chain to advance its carbon neutrality goal by 2030, and will launch a new partnership with Tsinghua University to promote this goal.

According to Apple, the company has begun to achieve carbon neutrality in global corporate operations by 2020. Meanwhile, more than 200 Apple suppliers worldwide have pledged to use 100% renewable energy to produce Apple products, including 55 Chinese suppliers such as BOE and Lixun Precision.

Apple said that in order to better achieve its carbon neutrality commitment by 2030, it will provide a complete set of free online learning resources and live training content, and will donate these training resources to create the industry's first public training platform. In addition, Apple also announced a new cooperation with Tsinghua University, namely the "carbon neutralization capability enhancement" project.

In this program, Tsinghua University graduate students will participate in practical modules to apply what they have learned through practice in different industries such as internships with Apple suppliers. According to Apple, more than 20,000 students have benefited from its previous partnership with Tsinghua University, the China Green Innovation Summer Academy.

On the carbon neutral path, in addition to supplier responsibility, Apple has continued to work with institutions such as the Green Carbon Foundation to promote clean energy construction, forest lotus management and other projects, and to establish the China Clean Energy Fund to help the company develop renewable energy in China.

Through its global audience and suppliers of software and hardware products, Apple's goal of carbon neutrality extends from corporate behavior to everything from manufacturing to consumer use.
