CTOnews.com, October 25, Steam recently updated the developer's documentation on pricing, saying that it will update regional pricing recommendations more frequently to provide developers with data on the exchange rates of national currencies in a more immediate way to set pricing.

It is well known that the pricing of Steam games varies from region to region, which allows some players to use the swap zone to buy low-cost games, such as Ukraine or Argentina, and the V Club continues to "repatriate" these players through some policies.

However, the pricing of Steam is ultimately determined by developers, and V Society first uses US dollars as the basis, and then displays the suggested prices in other regions according to the exchange rate and spending power of different regions, but V said that most developers ignored this suggested feature, which made it impossible for game prices to keep up with rapidly changing exchange rates (such as the Japanese yen).

CTOnews.com learned that V stressed that although regional pricing proposals will be updated more frequently, there is no mandatory requirement for developers to change prices automatically, and the announcement is only intended to help developers pay more attention to exchange rate changes in order to respond to and propose price changes.

In addition, V Society has also launched a new Steam pricing tool to help developers better set game prices in different regions.
