CTOnews.com, October 25 (Xinhua)-- smartphone maker Vertu unveiled its latest design Metavertu at an event in London yesterday, which claims to be the first "Web3 phone" that can run its own blockchain nodes and turn photos and videos into NFT.

Since it is from Vertu, the machine is naturally aimed at the high-end market. All versions feature a ceramic body and Vertu's iconic sapphire glass screen, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU, 6.67 inch 2400 × 1080 AMOLED display, rear three cameras and three lenses, built-in 4600mAh battery, which can be fully filled in 20 minutes.

The entry-level model uses carbon fiber surface, 12GB memory and 512GB internal storage, and the price of the Bank of China is 25800 yuan. High-end models offer 18GB memory and 1TB storage space, and use high-end materials such as "Himalayan alligator skin", 18-karat gold and diamonds, with prices ranging from 46800 yuan to 300800 yuan.

Gary Chan, CEO of Vertu, the entry-level model (left) and high-end model (right), said at a mobile conference in London that the problem with Web3 is that its complexity disgusts new users. "We want to reshape smartphones and make Web3 easy and simple," he said.

With this in mind, Metavertu can switch between Web2 mode (the standard Android operating system on most smartphones) and Web3 mode. Users can create a wallet with just a few clicks, the private key is protected by the phone's trusted execution environment (TEE), and access a set of distributed applications (dapp) through a friendly Android-style interface.

According to a spokesman for Vertu, these dapp include VOS, which enables the phone to be used as a verifier, lightweight node and lightweight client on the etherfang block chain. Another application, Vshot, enables users to generate a NFT from a photo or video with one click.

The phone also has built-in Vtalk, an encrypted peer-to-peer instant messaging app that "integrates decentralized social networking" functions.

In addition, users can access 10TB's distributed storage on IPFS, as well as Vertu's "Red Button" 24ax 7 concierge service, which has been updated to reflect the world of Web3. Vertu now has a dedicated NFT investment team to help users understand NFT better and quickly, including guiding newcomers through the process of collecting unforgeable tokens and advising them on which upcoming collectibles are worth snapping up.

CTOnews.com learned that Metavertu will be sold through the Vertu website and its brick-and-mortar stores on November 3, as well as a global simultaneous debut on Tmall's small black box HEYSPACE.
