Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

According to CTOnews.com news on October 24, AMD officials announced today that the fourth generation EPYC server CPU, code-named Genoa, will be unveiled at 10:00 Pacific time on November 10 (1: 00 a.m. Beijing time the next day).

CTOnews.com has reported that the "Genoa" lineup and benchmark results of AMD's latest generation of EPYC Xiaolong processors have been exposed, showing us a much better performance than the previous generation of "Milan" and Intel.

The AMD Zen 4 series will be divided into three series, including standard Zen 4 for EPYC Genoa, Compute Density-Optimized Zen 4C for EPYC Bergamo, and Cache-Optimized Zen 4 V-Cache in the EPYC Genoa-X series.

In addition, the series will also introduce a cheaper entry-level server chip, the "Siena". The server will use the same Zen 4 core architecture, but will use the new SP6 platform, focusing on TCO optimization compared to SP5, including products such as the EPYC 8004 series.

The platform will support 12 DDR5 channels, support 4800Mbps DIMM, and include 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 interleaving options. RDIMM and 3DS RDIMM support 2 DIMM per channel with up to 6 TB capacity per slot (using 256 GB 3DS RDIMM).

"AMD Zen4 EPYC processor" Genoa "exposed: running points can be twice as high as Milan and 2.6 times as strong as Intel."

"Intel expects to further lose market share to AMD by 2023, with the goal of returning to growth by 2025."
