The track laying construction of the whole line of the south inter-city railway along the Yangtze River uses the domestic advanced multi-line rail laying machine and the traditional rail laying machine to carry out the joint operation, and the long rail laying work of the uplink and downlink lines is carried out synchronously, and the efficiency is greatly improved than before.

CTOnews.com learned that the south inter-city railway along the Yangtze River is an important part of the Yangtze River Delta railway network, with a designed speed of 350km per hour and a total length of 278.53 km. Construction will begin in October 2018. The route starts from Nanjing South Railway Station in the west, through Nanjing Jiangning District, Qinhuai District, Zhenjiang Jurong City, Changzhou Jintan, Wujin, Jingkai District, Wuxi Jiangyin City, Suzhou Zhangjiagang, Changshu, Taicang City, and finally to Taicang Station. There are 8 stations in Nanjing South, Jurong, Jintan, Wujin, Jiangyin, Zhangjiagang, Changshu and Taicang, of which Nanjing South Station is the existing station.
