CTOnews.com October 23, Micron announced this week the release of new firmware for its 7450 NVMe SSD that conforms to the Open Computing Project data Center NVMe SSD 2.0 (OCP SSD 2.0) specification.

CTOnews.com learned that Meguiar's 7450 SSD capacity is selected from 400GB to 15.36TB and has data protection security features. At present, Meguiar 7450 SSD, which uses OCP SSD 2.0, has been shipped to some customers.

Micron said that after upgrading the latest firmware, the 7450 SSD will continue to provide flexible deployment options (including form factors such as U.2 / U.3, E1.S and M.2), lower latency, and higher quality of service.

According to reports, this upgrade will enable cloud data center and enterprise data center operators to further speed up the time to market and reduce operating costs. Meguiar 7450 SSD uses OCP SSD 2.0 specification to provide intelligent management, performance optimization, seamless integration and error handling. Delay monitoring enables tracking, diagnosis, and remediation of delay problems to help improve performance.

In addition, management instructions allow standardized control of functions such as namespaces and security, making it easier to integrate with management systems that comply with OCP specifications. The error recovery and error injection capabilities of 7450 SSD are compatible with the OCP SSD 2.0 specification and can quickly recover hard drives and simulate errors that are often encountered in data centers.
