According to CTOnews.com, October 23, Microsoft has been considering supporting tag pages in File Explorer for several years, and this feature has been unveiled for the first time in Windows 10 Sets. Recently, Microsoft finally confirmed that it will include a tagged file explorer in the major feature updates to the new Windows 11 22H2 operating system.

The 22H2 (Moment 1) update for Windows 11 is now available to all users, and tagging support for File Explorer is one of the major new features. Previously, the tagging function of File Explorer has been tested for users for 6 months.

Recently, Microsoft released Windows 11 version 22H2 KB5019509 (Build 22621.675) OOB out-of-band update patch, new tag file explorer, taskbar overflow menu. CTOnews.com learned that users can open new File Explorer tabs just like web browsers. You can press CTRL + T or click the plus icon. It is also easy to drag and drop files between tags, similar to web browsers such as Edge.

Microsoft has made great strides and promoted File Explorer tags as a new productivity feature, but it may need more improvements when it comes to the quality of tag integration.

It is reported that there are some problems with File Explorer after users upgrade the Moment 1 update.

For example, in a post in the feedback Center, the user claimed that there was a rather annoying error in File Explorer Bug-- when the mouse left the title button (window button) in a quick form, the title button selection did not eliminate.

This happens in all directions except the left, but the easiest trigger is up.

"the sidebar failed when scrolling in the newly updated File Explorer. When scrolling up, everything is fine, but when scrolling down, it moves down but does not come back. You have to select the side scroll and push it up," another user added.

Of course, Microsoft is developing new cumulative updates to address the remaining problems with File Explorer tags. In some cases, pure installation of the Windows 11 22H2 version can help reduce these failures.
