CTOnews.com, October 22 (Xinhua)-- Wal-Mart, a retailer, still does not accept Apple Apple Pay payments in more than 4700 stores across the United States, despite a lot of user requests.

Wal-Mart mainly wants to promote its own payment service, called Walmart Pay, which can be used through Wal-Mart apps on iPhone. Instead of using NFC technology like Apple Pay and many other mobile wallets, Walmart Pay allows customers to scan the QR code displayed at checkout and pay with a payment card stored in the application.

Of course, Wal-Mart has some benefits to push its own mobile payment service, including letting more customers download Wal-Mart apps, being able to track customers' purchase history, and avoiding paying Apple Pay fees, but it is also clear that Wal-Mart ignores one of its customers' most frequent requests.

CTOnews.com learned that Apple Pay was launched on October 20, 2014, and in a press release earlier this year, Apple said that more than 90% of U.S. retailers support Apple Pay payments, and some unsupported retailers include Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Lloyd's and Kroger.
