CTOnews.com October 22, NASA (NASA) recently revealed that it has set up a team of 16 experts to study the phenomenon of unidentified flying objects (UFO).

The independent UFO study, scheduled to begin on October 24, will take nine months to study "events in the sky that cannot be identified as aircraft or known natural phenomena," CTOnews.com learned.

The team will study unclassified data from private government entities, commercial entities and other sources, and NASA says the results will be released sometime in mid-2023. the focus of the study is on how to analyze the data to explore unknown aerial phenomena.

"exploring the unknown in space and atmosphere is at the heart of NASA," said Thomas Zurbuhan, deputy director of the Science Bureau at NASA headquarters. "knowing the data we have around unknown aerial phenomena is essential to help us draw scientific conclusions about what's going on in our skies."

According to NASA, unidentified air phenomena involve both national security and air security.

The people selected for the study are experts across artificial intelligence, aerospace safety, science and data, chaired by astrophysicist David Spergel.

Other members of the team are as follows:

Scott Kelly, a former NASA astronaut, test pilot, fighter pilot and retired U.S. Navy captain.

Paula Bontempi, a biological oceanographer, is the second woman to lead the graduate school of oceanography at the University of Rhode Island.

Shelley Wright is an associate professor of physics at the Center for Astrophysics and Space Research at the University of California, San Diego.

Anamaria Berea is an associate professor of computing and data science at George-Mason University.

Federica Bianco is a co-professor of physics and astrophysics at the University of Delaware.

Nadia Drake, with a doctorate in genetics, is a freelance science journalist and National Geographic writer.

David Grinspoon, senior scientist at the Institute of Planetary Science in Tucson, Arizona, and adjunct professors of astrophysics and planetary science at the University of Colorado and Georgetown University.

Matt Mountain, president of the University Association for Research and Astronomy, is a telescope scientist at Weber.

Warren Randolph, Deputy Executive Director of the Aviation Safety accident investigation and Prevention Department of the Federal Aviation Administration.

Joshua Semeter is a professor of electronic and computer engineering and director of the Center for Space Physics at Boston University.
