CTOnews.com, Oct. 22 (Xinhua)-- e-commerce giant Amazon has said it will use Hawaiian Airlines to fly 10 chartered Airbus planes to deliver parcels across the United States to reduce dependence on Boeing aircraft, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Among them, the first batch of Airbus A330 aircraft is scheduled to be delivered by the end of 2023, which will replace Boeing 767 aircraft within the next 18 months.

CTOnews.com learned that Amazon has a fleet of more than 110 aircraft, mainly Boeing 767s. These planes were used to carry passengers but are now used to transport goods, and flights are outsourced to other airlines.

Amazon reported second-quarter net sales of $121.234 billion (about 838.939 billion yuan), up 7% from a year earlier, and a net loss of $2.028 billion (about 14.034 billion yuan).
