After this upgrade, the Xiaopeng P5 adds urban NGP intelligent navigation-assisted driving (models equipped with lidar and equipped with XPILOT 3.5 software and upgrade services). At the same time, it also brings upgrade and optimization for many functional modules such as high-speed NGP intelligent navigation-assisted driving, LCC lane centering auxiliary enhanced version, intelligent instruments and Bluetooth calls, etc.

Urban NGP allows Xiaopeng P5 users to use NGP intelligent navigation to assist driving in expressways and expressways (nationwide) and urban ordinary roads (currently limited to Guangzhou). Safe and easy-to-use high-level driving aids can cover nearly 90% of daily travel scenes.

CTOnews.com learned that the Xiaopeng city NGP is currently only open in Guangzhou, but Xiaopeng said it will make efforts to promote the landing in more cities as soon as possible.

According to reports, the Xiaopeng city NGP is the first mass-produced city scene with high-level intelligent assisted driving in China, indicating that Xiaopeng's strength in the field of self-driving is close to the world's leading level, and has surpassed in some of the subdivided scenes.

Urban NGP not only satisfies basic driving, but also has the ability to handle complex scenes like "old drivers". The traffic efficiency of nearly 90% of the scenes is close to the manual driving time shown by navigation.

Xiaopeng launched the industry's first instrument SR intelligent driving environment simulation display. Compared with the high-speed NGP, the central control and instrument SR simulation display of urban NGP is more abundant, such as side car steering signal, vehicle driveable area guide surface, steering point hint and so on. At the same time, urban NGP is also equipped with timely and intimate voice interaction, and users can also choose a concise broadcast mode as needed.

With the mass production and landing of the urban NGP, Xiaopeng also specially launched the "novice mode": to allow users to fully experience the capabilities and limitations of the system in suitable conditions, to be familiar with the human-computer co-driving system, and to use the urban NGP to travel more than 100km and reach 7 days from the first activation function before unlocking all available roads.

In addition, LCC enhanced version and urban NGP were born in the same technology platform, based on vision and lidar multi-perception enhancement, LCC enhanced version of the ability to pass through the intersection, detour and bend ability is stronger, but also can better decelerate to avoid the goal of close cut, more importantly, not subject to advanced driving assistance map restrictions, for the city NGP is not open to the city can also be used.

After this upgrade, a new self-recovery function is added. When the user turns the steering wheel to exit the function to ACC, if the system recognizes that the environment meets the working conditions in a short time, it will automatically restore to the LCC enhanced version and issue a voice prompt without having to activate it manually again.

In addition, the new version adds traffic light recognition, in LCC enhanced mode, new intersection traffic light recognition and instrument interface intersection traffic light status display, and will issue audio reminders when you encounter a red light.

(note: the instrument traffic light display can not replace the driver's judgment and decision on the real world traffic light, please make the decision according to the real traffic light; the enhanced version of LCC will not control the body movement according to the traffic light status, so the driver needs to pay attention to the road condition and take relevant measures.)

In other aspects, the high-speed NGP (models with XPILOT 3.0or XPILOT 3.5software and upgrade services) further optimizes the human-computer interaction experience by adding instruments to SR intelligent driving environment simulation display.

When the user turns on the high-speed NGP, the instrument will switch to the SR interface to display the perceived objects and environmental information around the vehicle. Like the urban NGP instrument SR, it can display the steering light state of the vehicle around the car, the guide surface of the drivable area, the guide line of the self-driving path planning, the steering point hint, the identification and notification of the risk scene, a clear hierarchical takeover reminder and so on.

In addition, the OTA also upgrades and optimizes intelligent instruments, adaptive full LED headlights, zero-pressure comfortable space, Bluetooth call, lamp dance function, Bluetooth digital key, remote diagnosis service and many other functions.
